Corona Public Schools NOTICE OF 2025-26 OPERATING BUDGET APPROVAL Notice is hereby given pursuant to 22-8-10 NMSA 1978 that the School Board of Corona Public Schools of Corona, State of New Mexico will on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., at a School Board Meeting for Corona Public Schools, 531 Franklin Street, Corona, N.M., present and publicly review the Operating Budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. This is a public hearing and all school patrons, and the general public are invited to attend.

Reminder Elementary Field Day is Thursday. They need Hats, Water Bottles, and Lots of Sunscreen.

Tonight is the Kindergarten/Sixth Grade Promotion at 6PM in the Auditorium. Light refreshments will be available after the ceremony. Looking forward to having everyone attend this great event to recognize our students.

REMINDER : May 20-22, 2025 are early releases for Finals and the day will end at 12:30PM. Please make sure you have your transportation arrangements made and buses will be running at that time. Thanks.

POSTOPONEMENT: The Special Meeting for the approval of the Budget for Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 5:30PM has been postponed as conflicts exist that may result in not having a quorum. The meeting postponement is posted on the website and new public notice will be sent within 72 hours of the scheduled meeting. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE-REGULAR BOARD MEETING: The Corona Public Schools Board of Education will be meeting on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 in the Board Room in Corona High School at 5:30PM. Agendas will be posted at the Corona Public Library and Post Office. REMINDER: The FFA Banquet with the Pie Auction is Thursday night, May 8 from 6:00 PM -8:00PM. All are welcome so please plan on attending to support our great program and thank Mr. Johnson for his many years of service to our district.

Corona Schools will be holding a community forum with ENMU Ruidoso to announce an exciting partnership for our students while setting up a strategic planning process for the district to expand student exposure to careers. The meeting will be May 6 at 5:00PM in the Auditorium. Looking forward to have you attend and hear about this incredible opportunity for Lincoln County.

REMINDER: Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 16, 205 is an early release day for Staff Professional Learning Communities. Early release is 1PM and student pick up and buses will run at that time. Also, a reminder that April 25 is our last virtual learning day of the year with Staff Professional Development in the morning. Thanks and have a great day.

SPECIAL BOARD MEETING ANNOUNCMENT: The Corona Public Schools will hold a SPECIAL BOARD MEETING on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 5:30PM in the Corona Board of Edu cation Room at Corona High School. The purpose of the meeting is an executive session for the Superintendent Evaluation.

Parent Teacher Conferences will go on as scheduled for Thursday. Contact your student's teacher with any questions if you are unable to come. Thank you, Lady Cardinals, for a great season and representing our community with great pride.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT: With the Girls Basketball Team competing in the State Basketball Team this week, the following adjustments have been made for the P/T Conference Day on Thursday, March 13: If the team wins, Conferences will start at 1PM unless you are notified by staff that they will be on campus during the day. Elementary is currently planning on being on campus, but have the option to attend the game on Thursday is available. HS Staff will need to adjust some schedules in the morning as several of them are traveling with the team. Those parents affected will be contacted directly by the teacher in these cases. Otherwise, the P/T Conference Day will go as scheduled if the team suffers a defeat on Wednesday. Please contact your student's teacher directly with any questions and the option exists for a phone call or virtual conference if you are able. Thank you for your understanding and consideration of these events are both are very important to our students and community as we strive to provide the best education and support of your students.

Congratulations to our Varsity Girls Basketball team on their victory Friday versus Logan in the state tournament. Their next game will be Wednesday, March 12, at 8am versus Fort Sumner at Bernalillo High School. School will be cancelled on Wednesday so students, staff and community can go support the girls in their quest for a state championship. Thank you for your support of our girls and GO LADY CARDINALS!

Parent-Teacher Conferences are this Thursday, March 13. An announcement will be made Monday night on their status because of a potential conflict with the Girls State Basketball Championship schedule. Thank you for your understanding in this effort as we attempt to meet the needs of all involved in these two very important activities.

This is a reschedule of the regularly scheduled meeting of March 12, 2025. Agendas and meeting notices will be made available and posted in accordance with the Open Meetings Act prior to this meeting.
